Communicating with meaning is difficult. Concisely? Almost impossible (well *ahem* it is for some of us!).I completed a job application recently which limited the applicant to 350 word responses to the criteria. *ug*.
I was riddled with anxiety. HOW could I explain to these people in just 350 words that I was so much more qualified, [...]

Building bridges and painting fences

Today, I completed a whole lot more fence painting. Still at least 3 more sessions to go, but I put in another 3 hours (and an entirely new can of paint – that makes 3 so far!) today. Then I cleaned the fishtank, mowed and edged her back lawn and laid lawn seed and wetter in [...]

Are there any good men left?
As I teeter on the verge of singledom, I find myself yet again frustrated by my inability to understand the male psyche.
I’ll never understand the way men discuss women with other men. The misogynist references (’she’s a dog’) and utter quantification. It saddens me. It frustrates me. It sickens me.
I have tried [...]

你好 (nee how!) – Hello!
Long time – no write.
I’ve been in China!
I’ve never been overseas before, so it was QUITE an experience! What a choice for my first overseas trip! Such a rich historical tapestry, such a lot going on (post-quake, pre-Olympics), such a culture shock and -*ahem* - QUITE a human rights record!
Such a striking dichotomy between the abundantly [...]
