It’s hard being a poser, try-hard exec these days. Just when you think you’ve out-grown that old High School mentality, along comes the latest in the search for the slickest, coolest, must-own tech gadget!
Execs and tech-heads the world over are slogging it out on blogs the world over to determine the latest winner in the Beta/VHS, PC/MAC wars: Are you a BlackBerry carrier or an iPhone hugger?
Here’s my two cents:
# Look and feel: iPhone wins!
- The iphone looks better. It’s so much cooler. Sleeker, lighter, bigger screen and the intuitive GUI is oh-so-yummy.
- iPhone’s smart touchy-feelyness is better for web browsing.
# Emails: BlackBerry wins!
- The exchange server config on the Bold means that you’ll get your emails faster than on the occasionally-push set up on an iPhone.
- You can’t copy and paste on an iPhone. You can’t upgrade the memory. Working with word, email, and standard business communication, you can’t beat the Blackberry.
# Other notable points:
- Battery life sucks on both of these devices due to the draining screensize and application usability slickness.
- The iPhone wins the apps war in terms of shear VOLUME (thanks to their third-party-friendly policy). It has more apps, and they’re cooler, than the Bold, but little things like not being able to send a contact card on to users is really annoying form a business perspective, as these are conveniences we’ve grown dependent on and refuse to live without!
# The winner is: The BlackBerry Bold!
I’ll be going Bold. When it comes to the everyday business use, as opposed to wizz-bang like wow-man gadgetry – the BlackBerry wins my vote!
